Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency Is not a choice for home construction, it is now the minimum code and law: International Energy Conservation Code – IECC. Building envelopes or the shell of each home, must now be sealed to meet the codes for the zone or climate for which it is built. In the Texas Hill Country we are in Zone 3 which requires builders to construct and insulate for the hot humid conditions of our area.

Burdett works with their Framer, Air Conditioning/Heating, Window/Door and Insulation partners to optimize the performance of the home and the systems that keep it comfortable for all seasons. Architectural features like overhangs and porches play a critical role as does the placement on the lot and it’s exposure to the sun as well.

Burdett’s Subdivision “Vista Country” is deeply wooded with protective trees that make the comfort of each homes environment that much for pleasing…not to mention the views.
